Only 72 kilometres – that’s 45 miles! We are delighted to present this very rare, almost brand new 29-year-old Suzuki Birdie 50 from Japan.
We love the Birdies here as an alternative to the Super Cub. The same attention to build quality that runs through all the bikes made by the big four in Japan and this is an exceptional example. This is the four-stroke, chain driven, three speed version with kick start and a fully enclosed chain. In a lovely pastel green with red and grey markings beneath the seat and raised decals, including a swift, on the side covers. The chain is fully enclosed in a black casing and it has racks front and rear.
The predecessor to the Birdie, the Free, was first released in 1969 and was a 2-stroke. It evolved into the Birdie in 1973 and aficionados claim it has better frame rigidity than the Cub. Either way, it is a wonderful little step-through and to source one from this era in almost new condition is a real find. We hope to find a good home for her.
