Description

Stunning Honda CBR1100 XX Blackbird.

The Blackbird - named after the pointy-nosed spy plane, not the black bird - had one job. To knock Kawasaki’s ZZ-R 1100 off the top spot of quickest bikes. Oddly enough, it did this with aplomb.

Why oddly enough? Well, because the Blackbird not only goes very, very fast, but it does so smoothly and with remarkable stability. Not only that, the linked braking means that stopping is not only effective (thank you twin front discs) but also remarkably unthrilling. This is definitely a good thing when trying to reduce speed.

OK, so the Hayabusa eventually knocked the Blackbird off its perch in terms of straightline speed, but still the Blackbird can boast astonishing comfort and rideability for such a quick machine. It works as a weekend blast or a sports tourer. Honda were even kind enough to pop some luggage hooks and a grab bar on the back for a passenger or a bag.

Ours is a 2001 model with just under 24,000 miles under its belt. The reason we have brought it in is its condition. It is stunning. Japanese weather can be very extreme so lots of riders keep their bikes carefully tucked away when the typhoons hit. This one is no exception. It looks like it has only ever been ridden on sunny days.

A low mileage, super clean example of this ultra fast but extremely rideable classic.

This bike has been put through the NOVA system. Registration has been applied for, this includes the Dating Certificate, MOT, Registration, UK log book and age related number plate. The price includes registration.

We can deliver, please confirm your postcode for a quote.  Delivery/Collection can take place while waiting for the log book to arrive from the DVLA or once the log book has been received.  The motorcycle cannot be ridden on the public highway until the bike is registered and fitted with its number plate. Road tax & insurance are your responsibility as the new keeper.

A deposit of 30% will secure the bike, we would not ask for further payment until the bike is ready for collection or delivery. If the customer cancels we will refund 50% of the deposit.
