As many of you are no doubt aware, cuteness is a big thing in Japan. The Japanese word for cute is kawaii and you can find kawaii in anything from clothing and food to buildings and vehicles. The use of “kawaii” manages to inject charm and fun into otherwise utilitarian objects.
Like this Crea Scoopy. It’s just a scooter but what a lovely one. Apparently, Honda engineers were given the brief to come up with something visually cute and round but quiet, durable, economical and clean. And that is exactly what they did. The Scoopy is a clean 4-stroke belt-driven single-cylinder scooter with electric- as well as kick-start. Where it really comes into its own, however, is its looks
The Crea Scoopy is all about curves. The leg covers swoop, the rear panels swirl and the round headlight and meter swell out of the headstock like bubbles. Matching the charming shape is the vivid red and white colour scheme with a 2-tone seat. The seat has white beading and there is a bar at the back. This one is from 2001 but has done less than 900 miles in all that time so is not far off new.
This really is a beautiful, charming little Honda that is a pleasure to look at and to ride.
